"Encryption is for criminals." Then why: Every bank uses it. Every government uses it. Every hospital uses it. Every stock exchange uses it. Encryption is how power protects its own information. The argument that you don't need it is made by those who have it.

NEW - Ireland begins testing its proposed "digital wallet app," as part of EU regulations that all EU countries must provide a "EU Digital Identity (EUDI) Wallet" for accessing public services by the end of 2026 and 2027 for private services.

LinkedIn is silently scanning 509 browser extensions every time you visit. Not your posts. Not your DMs but your EXTENSIONS. Every time you visit linkedin. com, hidden JavaScript silently scans your browser for installed extensions. Zero disclosure in the privacy policy. This isn't about ad blockers. LinkedIn is scanning for: • 509 job search extensions (revealing you're looking for work to your current employer) • Religious extensions (Muslim prayer times, Torah readers) • Disability aids (ADHD focus tools, dyslexia helpers) • Political extensions (anti-woke, anti-zionist tags) • Competitor sales tools (Apollo, Lusha, ZoomInfo) • VPNs and privacy tools LinkedIn knows your name, employer, and job title. Every detected extension is matched to YOU as an identified individual. Because they know where you work, they can map which companies use which competitor products. They're extracting customer lists of thousands of rival software companies directly from users' browsers. The numbers: 2024: 461 extensions scanned February 2026: 6,222 extensions scanned That's a 13x expansion in less than 2 years. The timing? Perfect. September 2023: EU designates LinkedIn as a "gatekeeper" under the Digital Markets Act, requiring them to open up to third-party tools. LinkedIn's response: Build a massive surveillance system to hunt down and punish users of those exact tools. The EU said "let competitors in." LinkedIn said "we'll spy on everyone who uses them." Data is sent to third parties: HUMAN Security (US-Israeli cybersecurity firm) + Google tracking network. LinkedIn has already weaponized this data, sending enforcement threats to users of third-party tools based on evidence obtained through covert browser scanning. This violates: • EU Digital Markets Act • GDPR (processing special category data without consent) • Basic trust Source: BrowserGate. eu investigation by Fairlinked e.V. You can check which of YOUR extensions are being scanned: Install the "Extension Scanner - BrowserGate" Chrome extension. This is what "free" platforms actually cost you. Stories like this don't show up in your feed by accident. I scan 100+ AI and privacy sources every day and filter for the ones that will change how you think about tech. This might be the most secure Android app store right now. Accrescent: • no login required • no tracking or user accounts • developers sign their own apps • app signing key pinning (verifies authenticity) • signed metadata (prevents tampering) • minimum version checks (blocks vulnerable installs) • name verification (stops fake apps) • unattended background updates • efficient split APK installs Built to resist server compromise by design. Even if the server is hacked: • malicious apps won’t install • old vulnerable builds won’t load Android 10+ support. Still in alpha, but already ahead of most stores.

35 million UK iPhone users now have to provide a credit card or ID just to use their phone normally. The recent update mentioned new emojis & updates to Apple Music, only for users to be confronted with an Age Verification screen. Apple said UK law requires this. It doesn't.
