@SoveyX The “idle” teenager with a car and partying at other’s houses when their parents were away was a post-WW2 thing for sure, maybe later.. and lasted less than 50 years. It was not the dominant feature of late teens for “most of American history”. Come on.

It's interesting that the three things that used to define being a teenager, getting your license, drinking, and getting laid, all started falling at the same time. That wasn't a coincidence. It isn't three trends. It's one. For most of American history, being seventeen meant leaving the house. The point was to get out. Into a car, into a parking lot, into someone's parents house while they were gone. Teenage life ran on boredom and proximity. You did reckless things because the alternative was sitting at home, and sitting at home was unbearable. Then around 2012, sitting at home stopped being unbearable. The smartphone didn't make teenagers responsible. It gave them somewhere else to be. The boredom that used to push them outside, toward cars and parties and each other, finally had a cheaper outlet. Every behavior that required leaving the house bent downward at once. We keep calling this a healthier generation. Less pregnancy, less DUI, fewer of the disasters that used to end a young life early. In the narrow sense, it is. But we didn't get wiser. We became antisocial. Because of a phone. Which you are viewing this on right now.

Do we need to get the ref to take this to VAR and see if this is a yellow or red card offense? Looks like it might be a PK to me...

@JeffCarnage Because Cunha has position and possession (first there, and touched), defender slides in and does touch the ball but wipes out Cunha (obvious tripping foul). You can't plow through someone else and destroy them, plus he was late (2nd touch) and didn't have position.

He 100% got a touch on that. Look at the ball change direction. How did the VAR goons not see that? Why did they not show the referee that angle?

@Rory_Talks_Ball Cunha touches first, defender comes in, gets a touch, but wipes out Cunha. That's a tripping foul. Cunha has position and possession (first touch) and there was no way to step around/up/over the sliding defender. You can't wipe a player off their feet like that.

Kinda mad they didn’t show this first angle to the ref, nor the “snickometer” More I watch that first angle, he takes the ball away from Cunha’s path before bringing him down Irrelevant now, but VAR process was strange
