He denied them a proper farewell in the name of fitness, yet now that the roles are reversed, those same rules don't seem to apply to him. He had the perfect fairytale exit in 2023, but by dragging it out to 2026, he’s letting his ego override reality. This latest calf strain is just his body waving the white flag. What’s the point of him occupying a spot in the XI just to bat at No. 9 when the game is already over? He’s effectively a specialist keeper blocking a hungry youngster who could be the future of CSK. RCB already gave him a reality check last two season by knocking him out without a "proper" send-off, yet even after the Mega Auction, he refuses to let go. At this point, it’s not about the love of the game it’s a stubbornness that is actively tarnishing his own legacy.
