SCOOP: The unexpected airspace closure in El Paso stemmed from disagreements over drone-related tests, sources told @CBSNews. Pentagon had undertaken extensive planning on use of military tech near Fort Bliss. Two sources identified the technology as a high-energy laser. Earlier this week, tech was used to shoot down what appeared to be foreign drones. The flying material turned out to be a party balloon, sources said. One balloon was shot down. FAA Administrator Bryan Bedford last night decided to close the airspace — without alerting White House, Pentagon or Homeland Security officials. Dissertation defense scheduled. I will be making a video about my dissertation research on YT a few weeks after my defense.
After the defense I have a week and a half to address comments/concerns from my committee - while also grading student final papers and exams... so won't have free time until after the end of the semester.
The video will likely be 30 - 45 minutes discussing my research questions, how I sought to address them, summaries of data, and what data suggests about my research questions.

@orkboy59 Yeah... Right now I am just curious what they are using as triggers. So, if TurnItIn flags it for example, I can review that section to make sure a student isn't actually using AI.

I routinely run my own writing through an AI detector to see if it may get flagged. I worry that the AI detectors may accidently flag my documents as AI or that I may erroneously accuse a student of using AI on a paper.
Recently, I noticed that if I input my paragraphs individually, it will say "0% - Text is written by a human". If I combine the two paragraphs (that were individually marked as not being AI), it will say "100% - Text is written by AI."
Anyone know why this may be?
