@jwalesoutlaw @JulienHoez You do that buddy. You'll see none of it, of course. But your politicians and bosses sure will!

The USA is essentially dependent on military bases like Ramstein, Signoella, Aérea de Morón and Rota to ensure that it can effectively pivot it's ground forces, supplies, and launch air operations across Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and in some cases, having more options for deployments in Asia when necessary They use these bases to more effectively react to crises, gather intelligence, host logistical hubs that can reach globally across theatres, project power in the face of countries like Russia, China and India, and also to be better prepared to react to crises. This is very, very, very basic.

@JulienHoez Oh please enlighten me mate. This humble chap couldn't possibly understand the military.

@JulieBoudicca @JulienHoez Yes, and the kc's I occasionally see coming and going from MKG never have this holes. You are aware you are using some European bases, right?

@osc_gala @JulienHoez Iran did that. I don’t get your point. We’ve got aircraft carriers & have been mid air refueling there the whole time. That one was sitting in the tarmac unoccupied. It’s called a war.

@JulieBoudicca @JulienHoez Stationing your tanker fleet in the middle east might be problematic, given recent developments

@jwalesoutlaw @JulienHoez Well, I don't disagree with the second point. Killing eachother used to be continent's favourite passtime. If you'd rather quadruple your defense budget, probably at the expense of the few social benefits you have, be my gues. Your children will love you for it.

@osc_gala @JulienHoez Relations can be cordial when you stop being utterly useless. Europe's worst enemy is itself...always has been always will be.

@osc_gala @JulienHoez We pay tens of billions annually NET (after host country kick ins) to have bases in European countries. Flying coronet refueling packets + aircraft carriers will cost us far less.

@ThatFormerBrit @StevenSt90666 @JulienHoez Hope so too, for my sanity if nothing else, but such luck is rare. A theocracy is quite toxic. My hope may rest in what you'd call your rivals, politically. Don't hold that against me, or us.

@ThatFormerBrit @StevenSt90666 @JulienHoez It would be more than the ME. Assuming a divided Europe, which the US is seemingly pushing for, the region would be chaos. And soon the same would be true for most parts of the world. At that point your defense budget would sky rocket War/defense hawks wouldn't just disappear

Daca s ar face acum un sondaj printre cei de 55 + pt a compara perioada de după Bolojan cu perioada 81-89 am avea o mare surpriză. Imensă.

@StevenSt90666 @JulienHoez The aircraft do employ precision bombs. Regardless, I misread his post. My personal views support closure of all overseas military facilities. Waste of resources. A pre-WWII America would be a pleasant change. I gave them over 2 decades of service at great personal cost.

@ThatFormerBrit @JulienHoez And if efficiency decreases, the American taxpayer will foot the bill. Which probably will be much higher than having cordial relation with Europe. I doubt it'd be at the benefit of the average American regardless

@JulienHoez As I said. They do not need static facilities to reach any target on the planet. Effectively roughly translates to efficiency. It makes things move faster and cheaper. Allowing a higher saturation of assets. That's it. They can still strike without them. 10 carriers.

Trumpiștilor, vă place lumea după doar 1 an?

@Patagonia4837 @scapadaiah @LgCW1yoauR9392 @hinatariadesu The fact the frontlines are holding, and they're even pushing back in some areas, means that a majority still wants to fight. If most Ukrainians wouldn't want to keep fighting, the war would have been over.

@osc_gala @scapadaiah @LgCW1yoauR9392 @hinatariadesu It's not exactly that money that goes to foreigners, but you cut from kids while giving money to foreingers. I am not against aiding Ukraine, but the fact is we don't know if Ukrainians want to continue the war. A member of the coalition said it was 1.5% last year alone.

@Nathan_Hale1755 @JamesMelville Global? Over Iran? Even if they did get nukes, which is unlikely, it would have been more unlikely they'd actually use it. And nuclear winter is a very shoddy theory. At most you'd have a second Pakistan.

@JamesMelville Had trump not acted= global thermonuclear war would result in massive destruction and loss of life, potentially killing hundreds of millions of people. It could also lead to long-term environmental consequences, such as nuclear winter and widespread famine.

Before the war: ▪️The Strait Of Hormuz was open ▪️The gulf states were secure ▪️Supply chains in the region were fluid ▪️Oil prices were $70 a barrel Because of the war: ▪️The Strait Of Hormuz is closed ▪️The gulf states are under attack ▪️Supply chains in the region have been destroyed ▪️Oil prices are $115 a barrel ▪️Mass casualties of innocent civilians and millions of people displaced Trump: “we won the war”. 🤡
