[INFOGRAPH] 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝗹𝗲𝗿𝘁: 𝗜𝘁’𝘀 𝗡𝗼𝘁 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗮𝗻, 𝗜𝘁’𝘀 𝗗𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗔𝗶𝗿 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻!

Nigerians must urgently take precautions because the hazy air many are attributing to harmattan is, in reality, 𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗮𝗶𝗿 𝗽𝗼𝗹𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 with serious health implications. Unlike natural seasonal dust, this polluted air often contains fine particulate matter from vehicle emissions, generators, industrial activity, waste burning, and bush fires—particles small enough to penetrate deep into the lungs and bloodstream. Prolonged exposure increases the risk of respiratory infections, asthma attacks, heart disease, stroke, and eye irritation and worsens existing health conditions, particularly for children, the elderly, pregnant women, and people with underlying illnesses. Treating this situation casually puts lives at risk. Nigerians should limit outdoor activities during peak pollution hours, wear proper face masks where possible, keep indoor spaces ventilated but protected, stay hydrated, and seek medical attention when experiencing persistent coughing, chest pain, or breathing difficulties. Beyond personal precautions, this moment should also awaken collective responsibility—demanding cleaner energy choices, reduced open burning, better waste management, and stronger air-quality regulations—because clean air is not a luxury; it is a public health necessity. #CleanAirNow #PublicHealth #AirPollution

As we gradually ease into the new year, take a moment to reflect, not just on your goals, but on the mark you leave on the world around you. Every choice, big or small, shapes the planet we call home. What kind of difference do you want to make in 2026? Nature is counting on us just as much as we count on it. Let’s include caring for our environment in our resolutions, because protecting the world around us is a gift we give to ourselves and the generations to come. 📸: #WalkForNature2025 #NCF #Nature #NewYearReflection #SustainableGoals
