The issue gained attention ahead of NCAA DIII Indoor Championships, with reports from LetsRun.com, BroBible, D3Playbook, and others exposing potential loopholes in NCAA anti-doping enforcement for non-tested substances or school-handled cases. As of mid-March 2026, the allegations remain unproven via official NCAA testing, but they sparked debate about fairness in transfers and doping oversight. Clevenger continued competing and winning at Rowan amid the scrutiny.
