Today @lizzierbarlow and @oteleanor started a piece of joint work to support a client to develop joystick skills. Our goal is that she will be able independently drive a wheelchair. We devised an activity programme which will be challenging but fun for carers to support daily.

My day at the OT show didn’t quite go to plan yesterday when I was unfortunately taken ill. I want to say a massive thank you to the staff at Hall 9 of the @thenec. Especially the first aider Pauline who was outstanding. Everyone’s care and compassion was incredible. Thank you 💚

@RachaelD_OT Not heard of this routinely. In my community work had a couple of emergency GP referrals post discharge. After my 3 children not one person asked how I would manage at home. Despite being really poorly with one. There must be so many mothers who go home and struggle needlessly ☹️

Does anybody in the Twitterverse know whether new parents are routinely offered Occupational Therapy assessments prior to discharge from maternity wards? It seems ridiculous to me that I’ve had to drive 140 miles to assess my sister’s transfers…

When you get a message from support team. Telling you a client has had a bath for the first time in 10 years !! After lots of planning, assessment and time, it’s gone really well 😊Thanks to the amazing Avero hi-lo bath and bath support from @AstorBannerman @TheTeamSTS💚🛁

This week I have had lots of client MDT review meetings. It amazing to see how clients are progressing and setting new more challenging goals. The bravery and dedication of clients to smash their rehab is truly humbling. The sky really is the limit ! Eleanor (OT)
