Her resilience is at another level. Where is she from, and which school does she attend?

Earlier, I paid respects to Mzee Anthony Ocwet and Mrs. Carollin Akullu Ocwet. Their family reflects part of our country’s difficult history in the 1960s and 1970s, when sectarian politics forced many resourceful Ugandans into exile. When we came into government, we worked to correct those mistakes. Indeed, when Joseph Ocwet was earlier blocked in Parliament over citizenship questions despite being appointed Ambassador to Ethiopia, we moved to clarify the law. He has since served Uganda with distinction.

Today at Lango College in Lira City, I joined the people of Lango to say Apwoyo Lubanga for their overwhelming support for the NRM. I thank all the stakeholders, cultural, political, business and academia, for standing with us. Now that the campaigns and elections are over, let us focus on implementing government programmes that move our people out of poverty, improve infrastructure and fight corruption.

Unknown masked gunman shot dead former New Vision journalist Joe Nam at his home in Nabweru last night at around 1 am. The shooter fled the scene after the incident.

This afternoon at Teso College Aloet, I had the honor of serving as the chief guest at the rewarding ceremony for the best UCE and UACE performing students of 2025. I extend my sincere gratitude to the head teacher for granting me this opportunity, and I commend the leadership and stewardship demonstrated in preserving the high standards the school has upheld over the past seven decades. I also appreciate the NRM government for its continued commitment to ensuring that Ugandans receive quality education, enabling them to compete on a global stage.

This Morning I tabled the National Performance Review Conference outcome Document. It sets out the commitments we agreed on, the key actions to take forward, proposals to improve how Uganda plans, delivers and accounts for development results.

Dr John Omagino, the Executive Director of Uganda Heart Institute recently raised concern over the ongoing contest between Uganda Heart Institute and Phanero Ministries in Naguru over the need for the heart Institute to open up an emergency route for their New Facility that will have 250 regular beds and 40 ICU beds, a training Institution among others. One wonders why the Church that got land in Naguru much later than the Institute would block the Institute from constructing an Emergency route for the Hospital! This morning in Kyankwanzi, I took the Members of Parliament through a shooting range exercise, guided them on the basics and observed their participation. I congratulate them, especially the veterans who took part. I reminded them that ours is a people’s army. We train citizens so they can return to civilian life but remain ready as a reserve force, strengthening our defence through mobilisation and preparedness. I also emphasised that leaders must fight corruption, reject bribery and vote-buying, and stand firm on integrity. I wish them good luck as they return to their constituencies.

The NRM leaders retreat taking place today at the National Leadership Institute (NALI) in Kyankwanzi is again summing up the day in style with a bonfire. #NRMRetreat2026

I thank my team that represented me today at Bulange Mengo while I am in Kyankwanzi for the retreat.

President @KagutaMuseveni on Friday outlined eleven key priorities to drive Uganda’s economy to grow tenfold, urging leaders to focus on practical interventions that enhance productivity, expand incomes and transform livelihoods.

NALI LOADED : It’s listening, it’s sharing experiences;it’s learning; ….and later, regurgitating to unlearn ,relearn and make economic sense of the day to earn a rest. Chairman @EchoduOfficial @NRMNewEnergy has interesting economic insights with which he is very generous.

Speaking to the media today, I emphasized that ideological clarity and unity are essential. We are elected to serve everyone, not just those who share our views. It is necessary to shift from attacking opponents to embracing diverse perspectives. I call for progress and unity, urging us all to look beyond our differences.

Today, I officially opened the Leaders’ Retreat for the newly elected NRM MPs and party-leaning Independents at the National Leadership Institute, Kyankwanzi. I congratulated them on their victory and the NRM’s strong performance and reminded them that we must address our weaknesses to do even better. I emphasised that they are now leaders who must deepen their understanding of ideology, philosophy and strategy in order to diagnose society’s problems and prescribe solutions. This generation must end poverty by creating prosperity through production, not begging or corruption. Every adult must earn from producing a good or a service. I look forward to the engagements of the week ahead.

This evening at Nakasero State Lodge, I welcomed H.E. Jakaya Kikwete, AU High Representative for the Horn of Africa and the Red Sea. We discussed the situation in South Sudan and emphasised the importance of dialogue among the parties. Uganda will continue supporting peace efforts as stability in South Sudan, especially in the Equatorial region where many Ugandans live, is important for regional security and prosperity.
