A photographer took a picture just as this couple threw ashes into a river. He asked who it was. As they answered their dog, the photographer asked for permission to edit their photo, and this was the result. [📸Cecilie Thoresen]

Safaricom has been ordered to pay KShs 9,900,000.00 in total, that’s KShs 900,000.00 to each of the 11 petitioners for violating their constitutional rights to privacy, dignity and consumer protection. The court found that Safaricom employees had accessed and shared private data, including financial transactions, betting activity, and location details, with third parties such as betting companies. Safaricom tried to blame “rogue employees,” but the court rejected that argument and held the company fully responsible as the data controller. Justice Bahati Mwamuye made it clear that privacy is not just a paper right. Once personal data is exposed on that scale, the harm is real. I feel that the compensation should have been higher.

@otienowill @laisa_caesar Yes because we normalised tightening our belts and we are too resilient. Many will leave families earlier to head off to work in psv if fuel is unaffordable, breaking the familiar bond times. Many will change diets compromising health. Sometimes a highway sitdown are options.

Finance Bills used to arrive with reliefs, incentives and hope for ordinary citizens. Nowadays, people read them like horror trailers like, waiting to discover which new tax, levy or burden is coming next.

As a student of Sociology who has spent his time studying human behavior. DP Ruto presidency which I hope never happens will be Lethal than Moi's. You should pay attention on how he responds to criticism, how he acts when angry, how he lies in plain sight etc. Itakuwa mazishi.

Territorial disputes are a natural but brutal reality of life for lions. Lionesses fight fiercely to defend their prides, cubs, and hunting grounds, and such confrontations can often leave serious injuries. The Ol Pejeta Vet team recently treated an adult lioness at Ol Pejeta Conservancy after she sustained injuries during a territorial clash with lionesses from a rival pride. She had several superficial wounds that were carefully cleaned, flushed with iodine, and treated with antibiotic ointment. A deep wound on the paw of her left hind limb also required cleaning and suturing. To support her recovery and prevent infection, the veterinary team administered systemic antibiotics and anti-inflammatories. Thanks to the swift intervention, her prognosis is good, and she is expected to make a full recovery. To support lifesaving interventions like this and participate in protecting Kenya's incredible wildlife, please visit kwspay.ecitizen.go.ke/donate #SupportWildlifeConservation #ThrivingWildlifeForever

The relationship Gregg Popovich built with Tim Duncan didn’t end when the championships did. Years later, that same emotional connection is still bringing Duncan back to the gym to be by Popovich’s side. Just how much has Gregg Popovich been around the Spurs? He has been rehabbing in the practice facility all season long, with Duncan joining him for his workouts. Read the full story on Pop’s role as El Jefe below 👇

Macron's Latest African Visit Is A Travesty. Macron’s visit to Kenya was a performance of colonial arrogance. From schoolchildren being made to look at him like some kind of saviour, to a public forum where he grabbed the room, scolded Africans, and called them disrespectful, to Nairobi roads being shut down for his convoy and even his jog, Macron behaved exactly like colonial power has always behaved in Africa: loud, entitled, intrusive, and convinced that African people exist to listen, clap, and obey. The most insulting part is not even Macron’s behaviour. It is the African leaders, institutions, and elites who keep making room for this nonsense. A visitor does not come to your home and order you around. Macron did not come to Kenya to honour Africa. He came to perform power on African soil and everyone who rolled out the red carpet for it should be ashamed.

Karibu! On May 1, 6.9 tons of fresh Kenyan🇰🇪 avocados arrived at Guangzhou Port, and on May 9, 320 tons of Kenyan crude avocado oil arrived at Dalian Port in China. The two shipments are part of the first consignment of Kenyan exports to China under China’s zero-tariff policy, which was officially flagged off by Chinese Vice President Han Zheng and Kenyan Deputy President Kithure Kindiki at the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) Terminus in Nairobi on March 24. Besides avocados and avocado oil, the inaugural consignment also includes hides and skins, coffee, and green beans, etc.
