Congratulations to Mark Pritchard for being recognised at the @OxfordshireFA Grassroots Awards last week! 👏 Mark was highly commended for his work setting up Quarry Movers United - Oxfordshire’s first Parkinson’s Walking Football team. The team was set up in partnership with @OUFCcommunity, who support in running football sessions every Thursday for those affected by Parkinson’s Disease. 💛

This year marks the 10th anniversary of Loneliness Awareness Week. 💛 Loneliness is a natural human emotion - yet many people still struggle to talk about it because of stigma or fear of judgement. This week, we’re highlighting our Manor Club programme which brings together senior Oxford United supporters to spend an afternoon in the company of a guest speaker. The social initiative aims to reduce the risk of older U’s fans developing feelings of loneliness and isolation by creating new connections with likeminded people. 🗣️ #LonelinessAwarenessWeek

🚴‍♂️ Oxford United in the Community’s Mark Thomas will join Quarry Movers United’s Mark Pritchard in taking on the Blooming Parkinson’s Garden Ride on Sunday 31 May. The pair will cycle from London to Oxford to raise awareness of Parkinson’s Disease and the establishment of the Parkinson’s UK Garden at the JR Hospital.
