@mollyhannahm Also especially bringing up Nashville in the same breath is a sensitive subject people outside of the area arent aware of. There is a lot of socio-economic and racial tensions in those statements. Its a mostly black, Dem city in batshit crazy TN that already gets trashed enough

not gonna quote tweet anyone specific, but i've seen a ton of people point out that lebron has gotten much more flack for his comments than other players like draymond and marcus smart who also spoke negatively on memphis recently. 1) people DID roast both of them, but 2) what lebron says objectively carries more weight. he's the most famous basketball player in the world. it's fine if he doesn't like a hotel in memphis. but to go as far as saying a whole team should move out of a small market is going to upset people, especially those who love and care about the city and are tired of the disrespect. not sure why people are being dense about this

I lived in Nashville prior to what it is now working at the State Capitol. Nashville is what it is because they withhold funding from West TN. Memphis was the largest city in the state out pacing Nashville, Murfreesboro Chattanooga, Knoxville. That was a problem
