The answer was consistent: education over promotion. Tips, ingredient breakdowns, how-tos. Content that earns attention rather than demands it. "If it's just about sales, it feels pushy. I'd rather get something useful."

Challenger banks are trusted — just not with the main account. Monzo, Starling, Revolut are fine for day-to-day. "Where my salary goes" is still traditional banking territory. That's a different fight entirely.

Not "we love pets too." Something more honest than that. The practical angle (save money over time) did not hook anyone. But it is what closed them. It belongs on the landing page, not the headline. Most pet insurance brands do this backwards.

Most pet insurance ads lead with fear. "Unexpected vet bills could cost thousands." We asked real pet owners which ad angle would actually stop them scrolling. Fear performed worst. The fear already exists. Every pet owner knows their pet could get sick.
