Overlai CEO @lukedneumann discussed the importance of ethical AI training data today on @BBCWorld. "I'm not against the artists participating in this auction, nor necessarily even Christie's. Our biggest issue is with the training data that makes all of this possible and the fact that it's all been used without consent to build these tools."
Luke Neumann@lukedneumann

Should @ChristiesInc cancel their AI art auction? 🤖 I had the opportunity to discuss the nuances of this issue on @BBCWorld earlier today.

You take hours, days, even weeks or months to capture the perfect photograph. It comes out brilliantly. Then two weeks later you see AI create variants of it; it can now suck in all that original art online and create images off of it. It's wrong and it's moving fast. Luckily, you have warriors in @PaulNicklen @lukedneumann and the team at @overlai_app who used blockchain to encapsulate and protect the provenance of your genius. You should support their work. @bernabephoto @mattvogelphoto @linusnhiscamera @HenriPrestes @lindsayadler @chasejarvis @ScottKelby

Hey @JoeMcNallyPhoto love your work, but AI does too. I shouldn't be able to go to an LLM and recreate your amazing creations like I did. You need to talk to @PaulNicklen + team @overlai_app who have created solutions to protect your work.

@sama Chicken and egg. You're telling people to work on being more emotive because emotive training data is what's needed to attain AGI.

Aptos founders are making major Moves around the world. Congratulations @lukedneumann @overlai_app for bringing art on Aptos to a global stage with @BBCWorld! In the age of AI, this is how creativity thrives on-chain.

I'll expand a bit. I've been thinking a lot about what GenAI "frees up" for creators. A lot of people have said it frees up ideas to be realized faster and I think this can be a net negative for creativity. As a filmmaker and a founder, I have a LOT of ideas. Very few of them are worth taking the distance. Often times what helps me narrow down and refine these ideas is the creative risk associated with them. Removing that, almost entirely, will be a net positive for a lot of things. I'm not sold that it's a great thing for creativity. Creativity almost requires that friction as a lowpass filter. The risk factor with GenAI isn't 0, I'm not saying that. I'm just saying that I think many people will ultimately find that they are no more creative than they were pre-GenAI because they are not being forced to be creative enough. Does that make sense?

OpenAI has missed its own 2025 deadline on a tool it said would allow photographers to exclude their work from the company’s training data. petapixel.com/2025/01/06/ope…

Based on the comments i see, most of you do not understand how @aixbt_agent works. To put it simply, there is a data indexer that aggregates over a bunch of tweets from CT, combines it with onchain data, and uses that info to find valuable insights about projects. The LLM is used to surface these insights in an interesting and engaging manner - you can think of the agent part of aixbt as an interface layer. The same data is available in the aixbt terminal. The fun part of aixbt is that @0rxbt built it so it acts and speaks like a human. I'm not sure what the exact personality settings are, but it seems like it's configured to be a terminally online nerd like the rest of us.

We have had the pleasure of working closely with the team at @Aptos for the past year or so. There is an organizational professionalism that you simply do not find in many blockchain projects. It's a bit flippant to discredit the work @moshaikh has done to get the project to this point, first of all. Getting a project like this from "zero to one" is a task that 99.9999999% of us would fail miserably at, on day one. Secondly, we've worked closely with @AveryChing in the C2PA for a while now and we can confidently say that there's not a better technical mind in the space. Listening to him talk about the tech is like watching a scene from Good Will Hunting. Wicked smart. Our team at @overlai_app chose to build on Aptos because of the pedigree of the founders, their team, and their tech. Doubling down 🫡
