A year ago, Missouri dramatically raised their minimum wage, and yet- it is not enough. People still cannot find places to live. Why is that?

Columbia, MO storytime: I had an appointment at a business near the club car wash on Providence. I was behind a moped with a couple on it, who appeared to be my age. They both were skinny and dirty in appearance. They suddenly, without warning, stopped the moped in the right lane and I had to quickly hit my brakes and swerve around them. I noticed the man had a piece of cardboard, that looked like one of the signs that the “homeless” people hold up, to ask for money. The woman then left and the man walked down providence with his piece of cardboard. What kind of operation are y’all running over there? Also, I have been told that many of the businesses over in that area, deal with constant needles on their property from vagrant drug use.
