MLA Mustafa, who was elected from Madurai — the abode of Devi Meenakshi — reportedly entered the temple around 1:30PM, when the temple was closing.
The guards and temple staff informed him that it was closing time and requested him to return at 4 PM, when the temple would reopen for darshan. However, he allegedly refused to listen and wanted to enter through the Rajagopuram gate, which has been closed due to renovation work.
It is said that after the fire accident six years ago, the entrance was shut for the public, and the authorities had announced that it would be reopened only after the Kumbabhishekam. But Mustafa reportedly stated that he had come only to supervise the temple work. This eventually led to arguments, following which he left the premises, it seems!! 🙄
Moreover, though all are disappointed by this act -no one wants to go against the new government - so the full story is not coming out !!

Govt justified in taking over #Gymkhana?
The manner in which the government has taken it over, I think, is more indicative of hubris than purpose. It can be leased and resumed for public purpose. The least the government should have done is to find an alternative place.- @Subhashgarg1960
