@minidinne space your meals out properly, and have more of them. if you have 5 500cal meals, one every 2 hours, youll hit 3kcals easily. Obviously you wont need nearly that many, so youll be pretty easily able to taper down the cal/meal amount.

@minidinne I am the guy in the example who needs 3kcals and has a small appetite. Worked well for me. I also found it helpful to stuff in a shitload of calories during my first meal (TotalGoal/2), and while unenjoyable, it made the rest of my eating during the day a non-issue.
