The “awardification” of football was always bound to have adverse effects. All who watched De Lima in real time knew what they saw. Forget all these “tally” talks. Mbappe is an amazing footballer TODAY. But no one who watched both Mbappe and De Lima thinks Mbappe is better.

Ronaldo De Lima played for Barca, Inter Milan and Real Madrid but won no UCL and to make it worse, he only scored 14 UCL goals 1 less than Mbappe this season tally alone. But he is one of the greatest of all time because he won the World Cup.
