Unpopular opinion: The Legend of Korra finale (Unavaatu and the spirit portal) was actually more cinematic and emotional than most of Aang’s finale. The cycle of the Avatar getting tested like that? The music? The sheer scale? *Chef’s kiss* 🤌🏾 Change my mind.

Avatar Yangchen would suck the air out of a room to instantly knock out opponents or kill them if prolonged. She uses this with precision to end fights before they even start. This technique was later used by Zaheer in the Legend of Korra series. 2. Avatar Yangchen was once cornered by a group of armed guards. In an attempt to escape, she let out a scream that was amplified by airbending, which ruptured the eardrums of the guards and knocked them unconscious instantly. 3. Avatar Yangchen could vibrate the air at specific low frequencies in order to create an infrasound that could induce intense feelings of dread, nausea, the fear of being haunted, and paranoia in her enemies. All so she could interrogate her enemies with a saintly facade while they collapsed, vomited, or wept in terror. 4. Avatar Yangchen turned the sacred Northern Air Temple into a secret prison, keeping combustionbenders in sensory deprivation torture for years. She forced pacifist monks to act as jailers, prioritizing global security over her own culture's sanctity. This eventually led to her banishment from the Northern Air Temple. While Yangchen was a Saint to the world, she understood that a world without war required a leader willing to get their hands dirty, proving that the greatest act of service is being the monster so no one else has to be. Which of her acts were most unbecoming of her Air Nomad lineage?

Aang's airbender discipline shines brightest against Koh – that unblinking neutrality in the face of a spirit who punishes the slightest twitch is pure mastery, honed by centuries of monastic training. Korra, with her raw passion and quick-fire emotions, would've fed Koh her face in seconds; it's the perfect showcase of how the two Avatars embody opposite poles of the same duty, one serene and detached, the other fierce and deeply connected. This contrast makes the Avatar lore so rich: Aang restores balance through inner peace, while Korra fights for it with unyielding heart – both valid paths, yet worlds apart in the Spirit World. Classic writing at its finest.

@christ621ml Paralysing them is temporary and lets them keep their powers later. Taking bending away forever is like stealing their identity. In a bending world, most would see permanent removal as harsher punishment.

In a world where most people possess elemental bending powers, would paralyzing a criminal bender be considered as bad as permanently taking away their bending?
