"She's not wearing the sacrificial ring! She cannot be sacrificed without the ring!"
"Where is the ring?! Search her! What has she done with the ring?!"
*cut to Ringo playing "Help" with a giant ring on his right hand*
FINALLY got my hands on some ClipStudio brushes that replicate the classic DuoTone board shading effect from the 1990's. The late great Sir William Blackfox taught me how to use shading film, but I never got to play with duotone until it went digital.
After the Bakshi Lord of the Rings, I subjected them to the 1977 movie, Wizards which was not ripped off of Vaughn Bode's style whatsoever (it totally was). We noticed the backgrounds were REALLY detailed and one of the people watching recognised @ianmillerstudio's handiwork!
@ozfoxes Since Friday is the last strip before Christmas I am obliged to say to the entire Ozfoxes team. May you all have wonderful and blessed Christmas.
@CaseyBMartin96 As the current strip shows, there's been a little recovery time involved. Healing has progressed enough so that we will have a new strip up for Monday. Here's hoping that trend continues!
@JimHillMedia I actually first read "The Art of Animation" as a condensed, slightly updated article in Disney's "Adventures in Fact" storybook, published 1970. Stumbling across the full book at a library a few years later was mind-blowing!!
I have seriously been chasing this book for decades. And when Stuart Ng recently revealed that he actually had a copy in stock … Well, I knew then that I had to drive out to his terrific store in Torrance and pay roughly what my first car cost to finally add this to my library.
@JimHillMedia First read this from a library as a teen in the 70's -- actually acquired my own from a *very* understanding bookseller in the 80's for only $20.
Since I turned 64 today, I decided to treat myself to a Disney history book that’s actually older than I am. Bob Thomas’ original version of “The Art of Animation” was published in 1958 (a year before the film it celebrated, Disney’s “Sleeping Beauty,” was released to theaters).
