Have you ever been intimidated to go to a specialty shop? Like you don’t know the lingo or you don’t have the skills? For me, that was the steel yard. But those guys were so awesome and answered every question I had. Don’t be afraid, go ask questions.

@MattRisinger Built a new house last year. Power went out about a month before closing. Ice maker full of ice melted. Destroyed hardwood below it. I don’t think I’ll do kitchen hardwood again. Too much risk with all the potential water around.

@MattRisinger That’s true to an extent. However many communities outside of major metropolitan areas can’t support expensive housing. Which is to say home values aren’t high enough. My area is one such place out of many across the US.

@MattRisinger I’m in climate zone 4. Pretty much 50/50 cooling/heating. I’ve never seen anyone build conditioned attic here. Vented cathedrals is as close as we get.

@MattRisinger If there are no mechanicals in the attic, do you see a benefit to a conditioned attic?

@em_wex @SimpleTruth4U Yeah it’s fermented tea. That’s where the vinegar smell is from. You have to get past the smell for sure. But the good flavored ones don’t taste like vinegar.
