Important to treat authors like Shakespeare with respect and reverence and that’s why we talk about important scholarly things on this podcast like which character would be the most successful on tinder or who’d win the amazing race

reason 2: classic literature is something to be scrutinized and analysed, not just read. no one reads dostoevsky for just a bit of 2am relaxing. it is important to treat historical works (and their authors) with respect befitting their contribution to academia: ff is just for fun
