Future generations will look back at this period and wonder at the term "community led" libraries. They will wonder how we couldn't see it for what it is - a fig-leaf for the systemic failure to secure quality library services for every member of society.

You can't measure reading for pleasure. You can't test a child on it. You can't quantify it. Reading for pleasure is THE most important gateway into reading, writing and accessing information but the Government like statistics, so will pursue testable routes instead. *Sigh*

Now #WorldBookDay is over, don't stop helping kids become readers! Keep books at the heart of everything you do. Show them how much YOU love books. Read books to them, talk about books with them, explore the stories & pictures & worlds together - and they will get it! #literacy

@MrsEdwards38 I think it’s now called Reading Cloud. Most schools use that but there may be something you could create in Microsoft office to save your budget. I’ll have a look and see

@stupidgirl_no1 I use so many words that I think are universal then I see folks faces and realise I need to think of the English word 😂
