2 lanes (of 3) are closed on the #M4 #PrinceofWalesBridge in both directions to enable emergency repairs to lighting columns to take place
Lane closures are expected to remain in place into tomorrow afternoon, please allow extra journey times if planning to use the bridge

It’s been a bit of a day, with more difficult ones ahead for the residents and businesses of North Monmouthshire. I’m not a big fan of the River Monnow at the moment! Flooding is horrible. The community spirit in and around Abergavenny / Monmouth is so strong though.

We're advising all residents to stay home as Storm Claudia continues. Our road networks are compromised, particularly in the north of the county, and Natural Resources Wales (NRW) has issued a Severe Flood Warning for the River Monnow at Forge Rd and the River Monnow at Skenfrith

Road closures building,conditions poor, Severe Flood Warnings in two areas as rivers react. This is a difficult situation. Two Fire Services deployed, Coast Guard active, Mountain Rescue plus blue lights and multiple Council Teams busy

📢 Old Wye Bridge, Chepstow 📢
Following an inspection today. The Old Wye Bridge has been closed with immediate effect for vehicular traffic until further notice
Cyclists and pedestrians will still be able to access the bridge
