Yesterday, I had the honour of welcoming @MBawumia to the Trobu Constituency as he wrapped up his Greater Accra Tour. The event was tremendous, colourful, and highly insightful, sending a clear signal that NPP delegates are energized, united, and ready to win power in 2028 with Dr. Bawumia as the Presidential candidate. The atmosphere reflected strong confidence, commitment, and belief in his leadership and vision for Ghana. At the same event, 22 out of 34 constituency chairmen declared their unflinching support, signaling strong momentum and confidence in his leadership. Delegates and supporters showed overwhelming enthusiasm and readiness to push the party forward. In a warm gesture of love and support, some delegates presented foodstuffs as a gift to Dr. Bawumia, symbolizing unity and appreciation. I wish Dr. Bawumia continued success as we build momentum toward victory. Together, we move forward for a stronger NPP and a better Ghana. #VoteNumber3 #WinWithBawumia #31stJanuary2026

Yesterday, I visited the Ridge Hospital to check on some constituents from Pokuase who sustained injuries during the recent Omanjor–Sowutuom clash. Some have been discharged whilst others are still recovering from surgeries and treatments. I took the opportunity to support their hospital bills with an undisclosed amount of money to ease the burden on them and their families. My thoughts and prayers remain with all those affected. Together, let us continue to work for peace, unity and development of our communities. #Service #SelflessAdvocacy #GloriaOwusuCares

This week, I am in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, with some colleagues from Parliament participating in the Second Africa Climate Summit, co-hosted by the African Union and the Government of Ethiopia. The summit brings together leaders, policymakers and stakeholders from across the continent to advance Africa’s climate agenda, strengthen our resilience and chart a sustainable path for future generations. Together, we must act with urgency and unity to secure Africa’s fair share of climate finance and solutions. #SelflessAdvocacy #ClimateActionNow #AfricaClimateSummit

I am delighted to announce the launch of the maiden MP’s Educational Scholarship Scheme and BECE Graduates Support Initiative this September. This marks a new beginning in supporting brilliant but needy students in Trobu and helping our BECE graduates transition smoothly into senior high school. This year, we are supporting 200 university students and 500 best-performing BECE graduates. Applications open soon. #Service #SelflessAdvocacy #GloriaOwusuCares

This afternoon, during question time on the floor of Parliament, I took the opportunity to ask the Minister for Roads and Highways about the plans for the construction and rehabilitation of deteriorated roads in the following areas within my beloved Trobu Constituency: Asofa, Amamorley, Pokuase-Katapong, Omanjor-Dwenewoho, Golden Door to Yellow House, Agric Quarters to Abensu, Ayawaso-Achiato, Afiaman, Capital Hills and Tantra Hills Areas. These roads are not only dear to the hearts of residents but also vital to the local economy. As the Member of Parliament for Trobu, I remain committed to doing everything within my mandate to ensure that these critical roads receive the urgent attention they deserve from the government. #Services #GloriaCares #SelflessAdvocacy

Join me this afternoon as I celebrate this year’s Father’s Day with the hardworking commercial drivers of our beloved Trobu Constituency. This maiden edition of the program is dedicated to honoring their tireless service to commuters and the vital role they play in our daily lives. It is also an opportunity to listen to their concerns and suggestions as we work together towards building a prosperous and inclusive community for all. Let’s come together to appreciate, engage, and uplift the heroes behind the wheel. Happy Father’s Day!

This morning, I met with the Parents-Teachers Association (PTA) of St. Peter's Anglican Cluster of schools, Ofankor, after requesting a meeting to find lasting solutions to the perennial flooding problem. The parents expressed strong support and committed to partnering with my office and the Assembly to address the issue. This follows my visit earlier this month to assess the situation and a subsequent meeting with the MCE and Assembly Members, where key resolutions were made and the Municipal Engineer was tasked with inspecting the site. This is a clear example of how collaboration can drive meaningful development in our communities. Together, we are working toward a safer, flood-free learning environment for our children. #GloriaCares #SelflessAdvocacy #CommunityDevelopment

This morning, I visited several exam centers within the Trobu constituency to wish our BECE candidates well. I encouraged them to stay confident, believe in themselves and avoid any form of exam malpractice. This year, 5,863 students (3,145 boys and 2,718 girls) are taking the exams in our constituency. I’m proud of their efforts and confident in their success. Best of luck to all candidates! #BECE2025 #GloriaCares #SelflessAdvocacy

Hon. Gloria Owusu, Trobu MP Writes: Our hospitals are in crisis. Nurses and midwives are on strike. Ghanaians are suffering and dying due to the lack of care especially women and children. Today, the Minority through our Ranking Member on Health, attempted to raise this urgent issue on the floor of Parliament. Shockingly, the First Deputy Speaker refused to allow it and even ordered the Ranking Member out of the chamber. I vehemently opposed that decision. This is not about politics. It is about people. About the sick who cannot get treatment. About lives being lost. I did not just stand up for the Minority. I stood up for ordinary Ghanaians especially women and children who need help now. Parliament must not be silent in the face of a healthcare crisis.

GHANAIANS DIDN’T VOTE FOR TEARS, THEY VOTED FOR LEADERSHIP! I find it deeply troubling that the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Hon. Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah, has resorted to public weeping over the galamsey menace that continues to destroy our lands, rivers and communities. While I appreciate the emotional weight of public office, I must remind the Minister and the government that this is not a time for weeping. This is a time for action. Galamsey is not a new issue. It was central to campaign promises during the 2024 general elections. The people of Ghana voted with the hope that leaders would rise to the occasion, protect our environment, restore our water bodies and end illegal mining. What Ghanaians did not vote for is helplessness or emotional breakdowns. If Hon. Armah Kofi Buah is already overwhelmed just 3 months into the role, then it raises serious concerns about his preparedness to lead this critical ministry. The Ministry doesn't need a cry-baby, it needs a leader. Ghana needs bold, strategic and results-driven leadership, not symbolic sorrow. Leadership is not about emotions, it is about execution. I urge the Minister to rise to the challenge, take responsibility and use the full power of his office to combat illegal mining. He must enforce the laws, dismantle the networks enabling galamsey, hold public officials accountable and empower our communities to defend their environment. If he cannot, then the President must not hesitate to appoint someone with the political will to lead this fight. Our country cannot afford more excuses. Our future is at stake and history will not be kind to those who watched it collapse and only wept. #FixItNow #StopGalamseyNow

On Easter Sunday, I had the privilege of worshipping with the Pentecost Convention at Tantra Rasta Park, the Mile 7 Presbyterian Church, and the St. John Methodist Church at Tantra. As we celebrated the resurrection of Christ, a symbol of hope, renewal and sacrifice, I used the opportunity to remind my fellow constituents of the power of unity, patriotism and faith in building the Ghana we all desire. Let us continue to work together, putting the nation above ourselves and playing our part in driving sustainable development in Trobu and beyond. Together, we rise. Together, we build. #GloriaCares #SelflessAdvocacy #HappyEaster2025

Today, I had the opportunity to engage with the wonderful people of the Asofan community in my constituency, Trobu. It was a truly rewarding experience connecting with residents hearing their concerns and discussing meaningful ways we can support and uplift the community together. #Service #GloriaCares #SelflessAdvocacy
