Last night I listened to @mikeroweworks riveting yet sad story of Lika the space dog and then a sad human story of Bonnie Parker. I woke up this am and went on my porch and was greeted by her. Lonely and abandoned. Not sure if she’s Bonnie or Lila, but she’s ours now.

Smoked Brisket Attempt #1 When the brisket had reached about 180, I had an issue where the auger stopped feeding pellets into the burner. It cooled down, and the smoker turned off. I had to figure out the problem, which took some time. Once it started again, it took a long time for the brisket to heat back up. I had to remove it from the parchment paper and let it smoke directly on the rack until it reached 200. It ended up being a little overcooked. Some of it was too dry, but the thicker side was delicious and juicy. The entire household loved it! Dinner was: - Brisket - Egg Salad - Fa'alifu fa'i (green banana) The green banana was for my daughter. Since she has been adding in a little bit of starch-based carbs again, I've been trying to think of foods other than rice and potato. This is a dish my hubby's family makes. They're Samoan. Green banana boiled until soft, similar to a potato. Strain the water and add some coconut milk and onion. Simmer for about 10min. Dinner was delicious! Can't wait to try other things on the smoker 😁

@cstegmaier We sneaked around and got on 93 in central. But took an hour plus to do that

@packmulejohn728 You’re right about the Highway Patrol effort. But there were far too few LEOs there to move traffic along, especially on campus. Also, you’re right there were a lot of people there that obviously had never been to Clemson before. This was Hwy 93 at 0100.

Spoke with a State Trooper last night after the George Strait concert in Clemson. Post concert traffic was a mess. He confirmed what I suspected: Traffic control was paid by concert promoter. Was not a stare operation. Less troopers than ordinarily at a game.
