I know tg is joking and bless his zoomer heart but if you guys want a new crypto economy to grow with AI it’s going to take solving real problems with the tech . Ask yourself, if the cost of intelligence goes to zero how will that intelligence saturate crypto? And what will be the second and third order effects? What are complex things that free intelligence will solve? There are a ton of complex DeFi products that could be managed autonomously. Even just figuring out the ideal way to provide liquidity on Uniswap is over 99% of crypto users heads. And that includes people who have been here for a decade. Yield optimization is less exciting than hitting a 10,000x return on PissPoop coin but it’s obviously a better application of the technology. The fact that all these DeFi products are getting hacked recently evidence that AI is under distributed in crypto. There could be a swarm of defensive agents constantly auditing and red teaming all protocols and getting paid by bug bounties so these hacks don’t happen. They could be getting paid on a per swap basis. Imagine a protocol that charges 1% more on swaps and spends it all on a thousand Codex agents attacking their own protocol 24/7 to defend it. Autonomous fund managers is obviously another opportunity but a lot of the people promising these products are vibe coding psycho-slop and it’s equivalent to early metaverse promises in 2021 NFTs. All bark no bite. Still, clearly an opportunity. Another is agents building trading algorithms, working as semi autonomous dev teams training ML algorithms, fine tuning them, and capturing inefficiencies. Like @karpathy’s auto ai research. Thats what I’ve been doing full time for the last year with some success. But this isn’t a product that scales to a bunch of users. It’s pure PvP onchain warfare. The second and third order effects are hopefully going to be an autonomous immune system on top of DeFi that reduces the risk causing more funds and more trust to settle. Maybe that’ll raise yields and pull money away from shitcoins but I doubt it. I do know that a sustainable AI product in crypto is not going to be launching shitcoins named after GitHub repos, or tokens for LARPing agents, or erc8004. It won’t be yet another token launchpad. Maybe x402 will eventually play a huge role it’s yet to be seen. But it’s probable that the most impactful uses of crypto technology with AI won’t be something you can easily speculate or 10,000x on. Like stablecoins. Clearly a massive impact and utility but USDC isn’t going to $10
