@IMS I actually have a brick from Indy in my collection! It’s my collection’s crown jewel.

Where it all began. 🥹 Today, we uncovered the brick racing surface that hasn't been seen since 1937, and even the crushed stone and tar that was the original track surface in 1909 during a Turn 2 repave project. It will be documented this fall on Behind the Bricks!

The Brickyard. A surface laid in 1909 and not seen in Turn 2 since 1937. I certainly never thought in my lifetime that I’d lay eyes on those bricks, fully exposed. Completely surreal experience. Euphoric if you love this place like we do.

@SHUNCK In 2016 I saw him do a promo karting event north of Indy. He let everyone go out and get a one lap lead and then he went out onto the track. Within 6 laps he had already lapped everyone. Some folks are just born racers. He’s one of ‘em

Enjoyed helping an older friend get some of the final signatures he was needing on the Indy 500 poster he’s had winners sign since 1992. As a lover of racing memorabilia, I’m so jealous…and this is so cool.
