@thatgrundo @runT1ME @hazhubble The thing is there are people who work multiple jobs. It’s really hard to keep busy for 80 hours in tech, unless you have really really horrible managers.

Honestly, it's wild how many companies this guy has interacted with. Great at interviews, which is how he gets hired, but then produces next to nothing. He seemed quite capable, but wild to take that skill and just endlessly grift.

PSA: there’s a guy named Soham Parekh (in India) who works at 3-4 startups at the same time. He’s been preying on YC companies and more. Beware. I fired this guy in his first week and told him to stop lying / scamming people. He hasn’t stopped a year later. No more excuses.

There is now an active investigation of this attack.
The SFPD and DA are taking action and there were witnesses so I am hopeful the assailant will be prosecuted and held to full account.
Everyone in SF should be able to walk freely and safely without fear. We demand it.

i was recently discharged from the icu at the sf hospital after traumatic brain injury due to a man hitting me on the back of my head with a metal pipe, completely unprovoked, in the mission in san francisco. this man is known to the police since he’s done this before to other people. afaik they will not be pressing charges or prosecuting this individual due to the state of sf politics.

@556Cqb4671 @raw_bimbo @garrytan The thing is most engineers can’t vote. I don’t have the numbers but seeing how many used to help out with visas and such, means they’re not citizen and thus can’t vote. Most of my friends in the field were from abroad.

It beats me why any sane person wants to live there. Your safety will not be anyone else’s responsibility- law and order does not apply. Unless you are licensed to carry, you’re vulnerable. And if you defend yourself, they will arrest YOU and throw YOU in jail. Criminals have no consequences if they even get around to investigating. Vish’s case is being looked into because of the outcry everywhere. How many regular people have that luxury? What about women’s and children’s safety?

@startupmillyair @garrytan I think the opposite is happening, the more tech people are present in SF the higher the odds that this will happen to someone in tech. Otherwise this is just part of daily life in SF. The person that suffered this tragic accident wants you to work for 50k on site in SF
