I’m happy to share that our @Nature paper on #mRNA-1273 re-adenylation was awarded 1st prize in the @IIMCB_Poland competition for the best #paper published in 2025. Huge congrats and thanks to all co-authors. A very nice closing chapter to my now-finished academic career.

Bardzo ważny wątek. Dzięki Funduszowi jako dzieciak z małej miejscowości miałem okazję zobaczyć jak robi się prawdziwą naukę, coś co było niedostępne dla mnie w inny sposób. To inicjatywa która bardzo ciągle potrzebuje wsparcia.

W Zamku Królewskim rozpoczął się 42 rok (!!) programu pomocy wybitnie uzdolnionej młodzieży, prowadzony przez Fundusz Zdolni (wcześniejsza nazwa: Krajowy Fundusz na rzecz Dzieci). Ogromnie ważne przedsięwzięcie, które - niestety - umyka uwadze wielu. Krótki wątek na ten temat

Na naukę powinny się znaleść pieniądze. Bądźmy jak Korea, kraj stale zagrożony atakiem, inwestujmy w badania, rozwój, innowację.
Kupowanie sprzętu bez odpowiedniego szkolenia ludzi, rozwijania własnych rozwiązań nie wystarczy.
Własne badania, rozwiązania to suwerenność i bezpieczeństwo.

@pakraw @HateTheMachine I agree it’s not part of your study, but we found 4 others just like it that have plasmid sequences and they are not IVT read through as they linearize the plasmid before IVT.

@Kevin_McKernan @HateTheMachine No, BLAST results clearly indicate the hit was in the 3'UTR (shared between vaccines), not in the gp145 coding sequence. So telling people there’s HIV in the vaccine was a big overstatement, which renowed scientist should be aware of

@Kevin_McKernan @HateTheMachine I already told you I'm not sure those are plasmid sequences - more likely IVT read-throughs. The paper focuses on a completely different subject, so there's no reason for a correction

@HateTheMachine No, there is no HIV sequence. @Kevin_McKernan updated his post. gp145 presence was claimed too fast, without the proper interpretation of obtained BLAST data

But when genomics researcher Kevin McKernan downloaded the raw sequencing data and looked more closely, he spotted something the authors hadn’t reported
Chimeric RNA sequences—part spike, part HIV—fused together in way that should not occur.

Przykre, że @FaktyTVN nagłaśniają zbiórkę na czyjś drugi doktorat a nigdy nie podejmą tematu niedofinansowania nauki w PL. Premier @donaldtusk ogłosił Rok Przełomu, ale wciąż czekamy na odważne działania polityczne, które umożliwią aby @UniWarszawski był lepszy od @Cambridge_Uni!
