Some messaged me saying India too has been inviting foreign social media influencers under a MEA program and promoting India. That is great to hear. I didn't know about it. Because I'm not part of GoI, intel etc like some claim. My post below about India not doing it is wrong.
Aravind@aravind

Nepal doing what I have been suggesting India do. Every country, small and big seem to have a social media strategy to improve the perception of their country except India. Which is not even fighting back negative perception of India being created around the world by adversaries.

In the early 1940s, as World War II tore global supply lines apart, Calcutta’s medical landscape was in a chokehold. Life-saving drugs were scarce, & the colonial markets were heavily gatekept. But from a tiny, 1 quarter sized retail space in New Market, a resilient Bengali entrepreneur was quietly laying the foundation for an empire. He began by ensuring a steady supply of medicine to fighting troops & common citizens alike. Decades later, that very same pharmaceutical house would look at the vanity tables of the Indian middle class & execute a cultural coup... transforming a heavy, traditional oil into a lightweight, golden potion that redefined modern elegance for generations of Indian women. The architecture of this legacy belongs entirely to Bhupendranath Dey (B.N. Dey). Born into a modest middle-class family in North Calcutta, Dey was a man of intense foresight & self-esteem. When World War II broke out, creating a massive pharmaceutical crisis in India, B.N. Dey saw a calling. In 1941, with nothing but his saved capital, he hired a tiny room in Calcutta's New Market area & established Dey’s Medical Stores & gave birth to Keo Karpin. The shop was an instant lifeline, tirelessly sourcing & distributing essential drugs when the rest of the country was facing severe shortages. Encouraged directly by Bengal’s legendary Chief Minister & physician, Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy, Dey expanded from a mere distributor to an industrial giant. In 1956, he bought land on Bondel Road to manufacture indigenous Sulfa drugs & Penicillin, creating an absolute stronghold in Indian healthcare. Keo karpin oil formally solidified its position in the mainstream post-independence market in 1956. It was introduced & celebrated widely as a "healthy hair oil," focusing heavily on scalp nourishment, deep conditioning, & pure, trusted ingredients. While Dey's Medical was established in 1941, the Keo Karpin we know and deeply romanticize today underwent a radical, game-changing metamorphosis in the mid-1980s (around 1984-1985). Before this era, the Indian hair care market was completely dominated by thick, pungent, & heavy coconut/herbal oils. While they provided nourishment, they were a nightmare for styling. Modern Indian women were entering universities, stepping into corporate offices, & exploring aspirational lifestyles. They wanted the protective care of oil, but they fiercely detested the sticky, flat look that ruined their hair volume. Under the continuous vision of the Dey family, the brand aggressively re-formulated & re-positioned Keo Karpin to pioneer an entirely new category: The Light & Non-Sticky Hair Oil. They engineered a golden liquid utilizing a highly refined, lightweight base infused with the deep conditioning benefits of Olive Oil & Vitamin E. It absorbed into the scalp almost instantly, leaving the hair shaft completely weightless & free-flowing. They traded the heavy, overbearing medicinal smells of traditional oils for a sharp, refreshing, sophisticated floral fragrance that acted as a subtle hair perfume. "Halka Boliye, Khushbudar Boliye"... The 1980s & 90s marked the peak cultural saturation of the brand. Backed by highly aesthetic television commercials featuring sprawling homes, romance, and aspirational beauty, Keo Karpin became an emotional staple. Its jingle mimicked on radios & televisions across the country defined the sensory landscape of middle-class households. It became the ultimate Sunday evening ritual. Mothers would massage this light, fragrant oil into their daughters' hair before the school week started/young women would use a few drops to add a healthy shine to their hair before a glamorous night out, knowing it would not stain their clothes/flatten their style. The slender, curved glass bottle with its bright green cap became a mandatory fixture on every single dressing table mirror. As globalization accelerated into the 21st century, international consumer giants flooded the market with synthetic hair serums & heavily funded chemical styling products. While many heritage brands collapsed under the weight of foreign competition, Dey’s Medical fiercely maintained its independence, keeping Keo Karpin alive on its own terms. However, as the fast-paced digital era took over, the brand quietly receded from prime-time spotlight into a state of quiet, dignified nostalgia. It is no longer splashed across massive billboards, but it remains a trusted, silent phantom sitting on the shelves of local pharmacies, powered by a fiercely loyal consumer base that remembers exactly what it felt like when India learned to style its hair with a lighter, freer step. The modern market is flooded with synthetic serums chasing fleeting trends, but they lack a history. Keo Karpin remains a living ghost of Indian consumer resilience, a bottle that holds not just an oil, but the legacy of a 1941 wartime pharmacy that evolved to lighten the weight of Indian tradition. It stands as a testament to B.N. Dey’s enduring blueprint, proving that the most timeless brands are not those that scream the loudest in the digital age, but those that silently weave themselves into the comforting, sensory fabric of our homes.

Yesterday senior journalist S Balakrishnan @balettan visited #HathKataroKhamb in Goa. Here 1000s of Hindus were tied to and their hands cut by the Portuguese during the #Inquisition for not converting to Christianity!! We again request #Goa govt to turn it into a proper memorial with a plaque recalling the horrors! @DrPramodPSawant history is very important. Who planned a bridge over a historic place? ☹️

Should I launch a satire party to control these ‘foreign’ cockroaches, which are damaging the growth of our country? I will need the help of every Indian, including Gen Z, to control these foreign cockroaches. If I get a good response, we will fight them on Instagram as well. This party will spread the information about foreign-funded cockroaches. This information is limited to X only, but now we will reach out to our Gen Z and will empower them to fight against these foreign cockroaches. Please share your opinion.

Almost daily I travel through this patch of Dharavi between Mahim and King's circle. It is unhygienic, an eyesore and a risk to all railway commuters. This area is expected to be redeveloped by Adani but socialists are opposing it for selfish reasons.

The most stupid and idiotic display of lack of basic human and journalistic decencies by Norway’s largest broadsheet newspaper @Aftenposten Shame on you @Aftenposten 👎
Aditya Raj Kaul@AdityaRajKaul

Shocking. Racist. Derogatory. Norway’s largest broadsheet newspaper Aftenposten brazens it out with a shocking cartoon depicting Indian PM @narendramodi as a Snake Charmer with the headline: “A sneaky and slightly annoying man”. They can’t digest India’s rise and success. Pity!

Boom Live is a fact-checking outfit. But it's blind fact-checker @HeraRizwan1 didn't find any publicly available information on Abhijeet Dipke's affiliations or profession! I mean, who made her a fact checker? Why can't she see his affiliation with AAP? Guys, this is the level of mainstream fact-checking outfits.
