@paledoptera gravity falls has three journals because they need to be split between gideon, stan, and dipper. the triforce is three pieces because link, ganon, and zelda each embody an individual piece. like your 3 macguffins dont HAVE to have EQUAL dramatic weight, but negligible weight?

@paledoptera ive seen some propose carol already has two codes but that also is weird imo because like. just write it as there only being two codes then?? if the third code never needed to be independent as a macguffin from the first why have it

@paledoptera i think youre supposed to treat the guitar code as the "first code" but i do think its weird that we're supposedly two codes away from unlocking the shelter yet only have two chapters to go. like i wonder what kind of pacing the story is going to do with that

the pine tree code from one of noelle's parents maybe (carol or rudy) but not getting the church code at the end of ch 4 almost feels like something that was intended but forgotten

i think a lot of the complaints about the possibility of the story stuff being rushed in ch 6 and 7 are kinda stupid but this is the one thing that i think "mmmm yea okay this arc might be a bit rushed", like ch 6 is PROBABLY the holiday house/hospital and we're PROBABLY getting
