Inventory is growing in for-sale inventory,but homes are lingering on the market. The avg is 6 more days. The national median for all homes is 43 days.  In Nov,there were appr 1.675 million residential homes for sale in the US,up 9.3% from the same period last year.

U.S. sales of new single-family home sales reached an annual rate of 664,000 in November, up 8.7% from November 2023.The median sales price was $402,600. With 490,000 new homes still for sale, there is an 8.9-month supply. The South region accounted for 62% of sales.

In2023,the U.S.CensusBureau reported the share of build-to-rent homes had doubled since 2021,reflecting 10% of all new homes.While that may still seem like a relatively small slice of the full pie,the WSJ found that major investors are tapping in with hopes the figure will grow.
