My grandma, an amputee who's in her 80s had a stroke recently. The doctor suggested a few tests to do. We said please let our grandma go home and rest and not be running up and down doing tests or treatments that will not make a difference to her overall life expectancy. If a parent has lived to over 80, the marginal benefit of healthcare spend is often not worth it. Let them be comfortable at home, save money for that comfort and a befitting burial.
