So, it’s 2023 and basically every artist has tattoos, a memorable haircut, special clothes or other noticeable body features. I personally don’t want any of that. How would you guys go about marketing “the person behind the music” then? Do you have any tips for people like me?

Why do „musicians“ put retro synths in their videos, pretend to play them (mostly ridiculously out of key, tempo etc.) and don’t at least plug them in? Sure it looks cool as an accessory but why not going all the way in and play what’s actually in the music? Are people that dumb?

To all you fake DJs: please stop pretending to be djing while playing pre-recorded sets at festivals if it doesn’t actually help your show (e.g. synchronized stage shows, lights/fireworks). It really is not that hard to learn how to mix properly and the vibes will benefit greatly

@lowpolysound 95% agreed. When a recording is ultra proper and mouth clicks etc have been edited out well, it CAN sometimes bring out the consonants nicely. But just throwing it in the to „cut through“ is utter nonsense - usually the mix just gets too crowded and isn’t enjoyable on big systems
