I regularly hang out with people whose net worth is 50-100 cr. Here are some financial tips and tricks they shared with me. 1. Be a government contractor. L1 bidding is unglamorous, but VERY profitable if you keep the right stakeholders happy. Float 4-5 shell companies and make sure a different company gets the tender every year. 2. MSME loans from small cooperative banks and public sector banks. A 100 cr loan - 1 cr to the bank bosses, andd 5 cr to a good law firm means 94 cr for you to pocket if your business fails. 3. People skills matter. That IITian babu did not spend 6 years unemployed to be disrespected by you. Make sure his kids can afford an IB education and then fund their AI startups even if it means a sure loss. Some just want a think tank job after their LSE or Columbia masters. Make it happen. 4. Family is important. Always file taxes as a Hindu Undivided Family. This is also why you should subtly oppose the Uniform Civil Code. Your bank balance will thank me later 5. Charge everything to the company. Your Maserati is a business expense. Your 7 storey mansion is an executive residence. Your kid's wedding with SRK dancing? A marketing expense of course. Go public and let shareholders bear the cost. 6. Invest in art. If you know, you know. 7. Start a charitable trust. Write off still more taxes.

@lokesh_mal23609 Not really. BCCI still owns the NOC, and you can't play IPL if you are not in the good books of the BCCI. Mustafizur and a bunch of Pakistani players can vouch for that. But denying NOC to players like Bhuvi & Shami, who have played their heart out for the nation is just petty.

Which is why the BCCI fatwa on Indian players playing outside T20 leagues makes no sense. If a player has the doors to the national team shut, then why prevent them from exploring the market?

@arandomguyposts Agree! But at this point, the IPL brand is secure far above anything else. The BCCI holds the dimmer switch for the NOCs, and they can control it as they want.

@Oam_16 @Prithvi10_ If there's one thing I have learnt from 48 years of following Indian cricket, it is that the BCCI does not give a flying fig about what the players think. They know that the players will bend to their will. Barring 1989, how many players ever went against the wishes of the board?

@panjikar @Prithvi10_ It'll still be the same. Because once the other players start seeing it, they will start complaining about why we are getting discriminated and so on. As BCCI, it'll keep getting difficult for them.

@Oam_16 @Prithvi10_ Players can't play foreign leagues without an NOC from the board. This isn't an India rule, it's an ICC rule. Nothing stops BCCI from saying that if you have represented India for 5+ years and have (say) 1000+ runs or 100+ wickets in national colors, you're eligible for the NOC.

@Oam_16 @Prithvi10_ Not at all.. Conditions can be placed. You have the uncapped player rule which has been going on for a while, you can do something similar for players who have say 1000+ runs or 100+ wickets for India.

@IndianMourinho When batting first, does it make any sense for teams to get a batter impact sub? If they're struggling, it's either a pitch with life, or some element of bad luck. Either way, they need an extra bowling option when fielding, no?

The last three games should be compulsory viewing for anyone convinced the impact sub alone caused the IPL run frenzy. When the pitch has teeth, your extra batter does nothing.
