@colinjenkins_ Ball brothers for a couple. Our man Simmons (he gets a pass but it’ll haunt him when he can’t out jump everyone) only one ive ever scene do it succefully is @paperbrain lol
I’m still not down with the wacky basketball jumpshot forms some players have nowadays. Gonna hold your back as a player eventually. When are the other athletic skillz are diminished a good jumper never dies
@paperbrain@mo_troper It gets more people to read. If we were just to say, "Here's a bunch of cool bands," that's not going to catch as many eyes as saying, "We polled the people most knowledgeable and obsessed with Portland music and this is who they say you absolutely need to hear."
Hey, it's Best New Band, still the best "meaningless popularity contest" (c) @mo_troper in town!
We do this to introduce readers to local music they wouldn't discover otherwise, and since I'm way out of the loop now, it's now a discovery tool for me. wweek.com/music/2020/07/…

@alexcasebeer I’m not saying every single cop is inherently bad. However, I am saying that every cop (good or bad) who doesn’t stand up to abhorrent behavior by other cops is indeed bad.
@paperbrain I disagree. I think the culture of the department is probably what reigns supreme. I have many cop friends in Salem and the department is well run, solid and full of good people. You can’t just say that all cops are bad.
When people say it’s just “one bad cop” they’re ignoring all of the other cops that don’t stop the “one” from doing bad. So, yes, they’re all bad cops.
