@pappiyah @notkianspriv Butches (as a term) originated in the 1940s, when police were still actively raiding gay bars. Butches would frequently protect other people, putting themselves in danger to do so. A butch being a cop (or military/government in most cases) is extremely contradictory.

@notkianspriv Essentially it’s playing a part in oppression (simplified) Arle works for the fatui, so that makes her role very obvious. I misphrased by saying positions of power, bc someone like haitham is technically in one, but doesn’t play a role in oppression. -
