Dear administrators, Your teachers don’t want another school t-shirt to wear on the first day of school to demonstrate teamwork/school spirit. No, we don’t like the design. No, it doesn’t fit. No, we won’t be wearing it again. Sincerely, Teachers

I have an issue with this except for pre-K through second grade. Teachers want to be treated like professionals, paid like professionals, given health care and benefits like professionals but overall we work less hours/days than professionals, get pensions that no professionals get anymore and then…we dress the same or worse than our students. There’s a reason why dressing professional was expected for many decades especially for professionals. How you dress does affect your attitude and approach. You can dress comfortably and professionally. Jeans inevitably lead to leggings. I see it every year. It’s not professional.

It's becoming clear that the manosphere doesn't understand how journalism or the legal system works on a fundamental level. These women provided corroborating evidence strong enough to overcome the legal review at major publications, which could have been sued for printing unsubstantiated claims. If Platner truly believed these claims to be defamatory, he could have sent cease-and-desist letters or sued 1) me 2) the outlets or 3) the women. None of that has happened. If you're upset that we're back in a world where we fight for women and refuse to elect predators, you're going to have to get used to it because we're just getting started.

This is the return of the #MeToo standard, which is to reflexively “believe women” and to render judgement without any investigation, scrutiny, critical faculty, or criminal trial—in short, the accusation is the evidence. It was bad then, and bad now. Don’t let them revive it.

Liberty Middle School in rural S.C. had so many kids held back year after year that some of them DROVE to school. Then Lisa Cassidy became principal. She added recess & opened up an hour early for games & hang out time. Now it is rated "excellent." postandcourier.com/opinion/commen…

Students should never know their teachers beliefs, opinions, or stances on just about anything. If a teacher can’t teach from a neutral position they should not be teaching.
david conroy@conroy_david

@educator4ever36 I have to say, I think this is a rather common misconception as to what a student has a right to in regards to a teacher. A student has a right to be treated fairly regardless of his or her beliefs they don't have a right to teachers who have no views or hide all views they have

@JamesAFurey We have fostered a society where being "normal" is the worst possible thing, so we've allowed people to label every minor quirk as some form of a disorder. This cheapens things for people who have a genuine need. If everyone is special then no one is special.

@NEAToday What they also fail to mention in the annual right wing uproar over these business items is they still have to be paid for. There's no budget for them. Most of these "resolutions" end up being voted on but rarely come to fruition.

It's always fun when the @NEAToday business items leak, but as someone has was once a delegate to the National RA the craziest ones get voted down, and most of them are pretty meaningless. "Write a letter", "Make a web page"

@educator4ever36 Our society has been putting down men and boys for two generations and are now shocked that young men turned hard Right. The toxic masculinity crew caused the current political situation with young men.

As female elementary teachers vilify me because I dared suggest a classroom was decorated too feminine, I find myself reflecting on recent research showing that little boys are at a disadvantage from day one in their early schooling. I’m not making this up. I’m not saying class decor is the only reason boys are left out in elementary school. But the irony of so many jumping on me when my comment did insinuate a feminine classroom, because supposedly I hurt an unnamed anonymous teacher’s feelings, is why I actually very scared now. If this is the attitude of our female elementary teachers - to get in their feelings, and not consider the research, well no wonder we have issues with our little boys.

America is the most powerful empire. Yet, it has not annexed another sovereign country since 1898. It’s arguably the most morally constrained in history. No previous hegemonic power with military superiority exercised so little direct annexation during its period of dominance.
