@SumitM_X Rebase. Keeps history clean and linear. Resolve conflicts once, then fast-forward. Use merge only if history is shared or rebase is risky.

Your branch is 200 commits behind main. What will you do : Merge or rebase?

Another long call with a founder worried about architecture of application. It’s good to think about cache or where to host db but you have 0 audience right now. Just get the product out. Figure out the solution as you go. Put the cache when it’s needed. Getting paid users is incredibly hard. You can ship anything and even faster with AI but AI cannot bring paid users. That’s where you need to solve a painful problem or bring product addiction to users. (Good or bad, that you can pick)

There are two kinds of developers: Those who want type safety in styless, and those who don’t.

Life Hack: I was on a plane with really shitty Wi-FI and couldn't open a 12Mb PDF file to read a short story. So I sent the URL to Gemini and ask it to just transcribe it word for word and it worked perfectly.

@adnansahinovich A very nice trick is using RCTView and RCTText directly instead of Text and View to squeeze out even the last bit of performance

Top three things to optimise list performance in React Native: 1. Use LegendList 2. Load thumbnails first, defer full-res images 3. Prefetch real images when needed
Adnan@adnansahinovich

This is why most React Native lists never hit 60 FPS. ❌ What actually kills performance: – Fake virtualization – Re-rendering old items – JS involved in scrolling – Full-res images in rows – FlatList “recycling” – Sprinkling useMemo and hoping for best

@kacperkapusciak Honestly i was not aware of True Sheet, we went with react-native-action-sheets, it has builtin router which came handy for few of our use cases, we have a bit of time for refactoring now i migth play and test out other soultions again

No need to add another dependency to implement a native bottom sheet in React Native💡 Just use presentation: "formSheet" from Native Stack 👇

This is the most common auth anti-pattern in React Native. I've seen this too many times, and even ChatGPT suggest it until you say it's BAD for the app. ❌ Why this is bad - Routing should react to state, not be driven by it - Navigation becomes a side effect - Router is now controlled by async state timing - Possible race conditions on startup - Flickers, double redirects, broken deep links, mfa If you need useEffect to redirect, your architecture is already wrong.

React Native layout hack I learned the hard way ✍️ Fixed width and height = cross-platform nightmares. Looks perfect on iOS? Android is not really aligned. Golden rule: Size visuals (icons, images). Flex containers (views, layouts). Here is a small cheatsheet to bookmark

A very annoying thing to do with React Native is testing slow internet scenarios If i enable the network link conditioner on my iPhone it makes the RN bundle loading slow as well (in dev mode) So it's either slow bundle load or test in release mode i guess
