🔥 BREAKING: The Court of Appeals just overturned Wayne Hsiung's felony conviction for his role in rescuing 37 abused hens from a factory egg farm called Sunrise Farms. They also overturned his misdemeanor trespass conviction for his role in the rescue of 32 sick ducklings from Reichardt Duck Farm. The Court ruled that Hsiung should have been allowed to argue that he believed his actions to be legal under the necessity defense. Further, the Court wrote that "Neither this court nor the California Supreme Court has ruled that the necessity defense applies exclusively to situations involving physical harm to a human," validating that individuals could have the right to violate laws in order to rescue animals from extreme harm. The Court did not overturn his misdemeanor trespass conviction for his actions at Sunrise Farms or make a clear ruling affirming that the necessity defense actively does apply to nonhuman animals. Consequently, Wayne will be appealing to the California Supreme Court on this issue. Nevertheless, this is a major step forward towards establishing the Right to Rescue and positioning animals as persons under the law. 🙏🏾 Direct Action Everywhere - DxE ❤️ #RightToRescue

With dog culling still occurring and every shelter full to the brim we did not know what to do. Thankfully we have managed to find them a safe space with a caretaker. We know almost everyone flocks to celebrity accounts but do spare a thought for us smaller organisations as we are trying to save the lives of hundreds and thousands of dogs 😢

Heartbreaking 💔 It feels like slow poisoning or severe toxicity, yet nothing definite is appearing in the reports. She is highly dehydrated, has nasal discharge, and has not passed stool for a long time. Even after being given laxatives, there is still no relief. Her tiny body is growing weaker with every passing moment. This is the heartbreaking condition of our rescued pet dog who is currently fighting for her life. IV drips are being given, medicines are being tried, and every possible effort is being made to save her, but the chances of survival appear very low at this stage. It is devastating to watch an innocent soul suffer in such silence, pain, and helplessness. She looks at us with tired eyes, as if asking for one more chance to live. Our hearts are shattered, yet we continue to hope for a miracle. Please keep this precious soul in your kind prayers.
