There's a slight crack on the handle of my airfryer. Figured I could replace the handle. The cost of fixing the handle is half the price of a brand new one. It's so problematic how many things with cosmetic damage are not worth fixing.

Markets don't have to be rational. Helps if they are but they don't have to be. Gains ain't real, until realised.

Doing something unfamiliar and not having that 'quick learner' advantage is extremely humbling and dear I say it... very necessary at times.

Rory Stewart quite overtly saying Britain doesn’t actually have a distinctively national army - and that it’s *intentionally designed* to be nothing more than a very junior partner in American empire. Which is all true. Ooops!

If you speak to students, Many are genuinely concerned about rapid advances in Generative AI, and want skills that will give them the edge in a competitive jobs market. That's why I integrate AI into all my classes, so that everyone (including tech-averse) can master AI.
Alice Evans@_alice_evans

Currently, any student can draft essays and get AI feedback on how to improve structure, argument & evidence. But I would like to input my specific advice, & see this process for all my students, so I can support their use Does anyone know of tools that permit this? Thank you!

Malcolm X is still considered radical, hence the reason we hear the name of MLK uttered more. I have studied Malcolm X for over 30 years and prefer his shock and awe, to being polite and too scared to rock the boat.

If the BBC presenter is going to say "Israel denies that", shouldn't she also say the head of the Israeli regime is wanted by the ICC for starving civilians, wilful killing, intentionally directing attacks against civilians, & extermination as a crime against humanity

"... has allowed Israel to inflict mass murder & mass destruction, what the ICJ describes as plausible genocide" "You know what I'm going to have to say. I'm going to say Israel denies that" An admission that BBC presenters cannot let facts about Israel go unchallenged.

i wonder if left adaptations of the US-progressive narrative ("the arc of the moral universe...bends toward justice" etc) are less likely to be successful/ convincing/ believable in a period of imperial decline, when progress seems no longer the main historical structure

If a former Israeli PM can call out pogroms against Palestinians and violent Jewish terrorism, so can Western officials. But you won’t see these stories in Western media.
