#WATCH | Manipur: As protests continue in Imphal against the Tronglaobi incident, a protest rally was taken out in the city this evening. Two children were killed, and their mother was injured when a bomb was hurled by suspected militants at a house in the Tronglaobi Awang Leikai area of Moirang on April 7.

৫০ বছৰতকৈও অধিক সময় – এইদৰেই মঞ্চত সংগীতৰ যাদুৰে মৰম, ভালপোৱা বিয়পোৱাৰ অবিৰত যাত্ৰা। কি যে ভাল লগা আছিল সেই সময় ! তেনেই কণমানি আছিলো মই। অনুষ্ঠানৰ মাজত যাতে বেমেজালিৰ সৃষ্টি নকৰো, সেইবাবেই কংগা এটা দি মঞ্চৰ এচুকত বহাই থৈ দিছিল। মঞ্চত তেওঁলোকে গাই গৈছিল ইটোৰ পাছত সিটো কালজয়ী গীত। এটা ১১ জনীয়া একাউষ্টিক বেণ্ড, সন্মুখত হেজাৰ হেজাৰ সংগীতপ্ৰেমী ৰাইজ, দুগৰাকী মহান শিল্পী আৰু ৰাইজৰ মাজত সম্বন্ধ কেৱল গানৰ নাছিল, সংগীতৰ লগতে আছিল এক আত্মিক সংযোগ, যাৰ দ্বাৰা মানুহৰ সৈতে, মনৰ সৈতে সংযোগ ঘটাইছিল দুয়ো। তাকো এনে এটা সময়ত, যি সময়ত বিহুক সমাজৰ কিছুমান শ্ৰেণীয়ে সম্পূৰ্ণৰূপে গ্ৰহণ কৰিবলৈ অসূবিধা পাইছিল। সময় সঁচাকৈয়ে তেতিয়া বৰ সহজ নাছিল। কাৰণ সংগীত চৰ্চাৰ লগতে তেওঁ সামাজিক বাধাকো অতিক্ৰম কৰিবলগীয়া হৈছিল। বৈষ্ণৱ পৰিয়ালৰ পৰা অহাৰ কাৰনে আৰু তান হৈছিল। তথাপিও তেওঁ সেই হেঙাৰবোৰ নেওচি গৈছিল ।সমাজৰ পৰা অহা বাধাক নেওচি তেওঁ উজনি অসমৰ ভিতৰুৱা অঞ্চলৰ পৰা সমগ্ৰ অসমত বিহুৰ উপস্থাপন কৰাৰ প্ৰয়াস কৰিলে। এই প্ৰয়াসে পৰৱৰ্তী সময়ত সমগ্ৰ অসম তথা বিশ্বকো সামৰি ল’লে। বিহুৰ পৰম্পৰা সুকীয়া— ডেকা-গাভৰুৰ দ্বাৰা পৰিবেশন কৰা আমাৰ বিহুত আছে মাটিৰ কথা, মানুহৰ কথা। কিন্তু বিহুগীততেই আছে প্ৰেমৰ কথা, যৌৱনৰ কথা। আমাৰ বিহুগীতত বসন্ত আৰু প্ৰেমৰ সম্পৰ্ককো উদযাপন কৰা হয়। পিছে ইয়াকে লৈ বহুপক্ষৰ আপত্তিও আছিল। আনকি ১৯ শতিকাৰ শেষৰ ফালে একাংশই তেতিয়াৰ ব্ৰিটিছ চৰকাৰক আবেদন জনাইছিল আৰু বিহুক নিষিদ্ধ কৰিবলৈ বিচাৰিছিল। এতিয়া আচৰিত যেন লগা এই কথাবোৰ সেই সময়ত আছিল সঁচা আৰু এনে পৰিস্থিতিত বিহুগীত গাই পৃথিৱী জিনাৰ সপোন দেখাটো আছিল এক দুঃসাহসিক যাত্ৰা। আজি বিহু আমাৰ পৰিচয়... আমাৰ গৌৰৱ। বিহুক লৈয়ে আজীৱন সংগ্ৰাম কৰা, বিহুৰ প্ৰেমত পৰিয়েই আজীৱন মোহাচ্ছন্ন হৈ থকা মোৰ দেউতা খগেন মহন্তক অসমবাসীয়ে মৰমেৰে বিহু সম্ৰাট বুলি কয়। তেখেতৰ সেই যাত্ৰাই মোৰ দৰে সহস্ৰজনক সদায় অনুপ্ৰাণিত কৰি থাকিব আৰু আমি সদায় আমাৰ আপোন বিহুক লৈ বিশ্বমুখী যাত্ৰা অৱ্যাহত ৰাখিম। আশা কৰোঁ আমি সকলোৱে বিহুগীত আৰু বিহুনৃত্যৰ প্ৰকৃত স্বৰূপ আৰু সূক্ষ্মতা ৰক্ষা কৰি যাম । সকলোলৈ বিহুৰ শুভেচ্ছা ❤️

Jayanta Das, on March 19, launched a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party after being denied a ticket from the Dispur constituency, hinting at a major political move ahead of the Assam Assembly elections. Addressing a press conference, Das said he had anticipated such a situation five years ago and had been working among the people since then. He expressed disappointment over not being fielded despite dedicating 35 years to the party, stating that he had expected recognition for his long service. He alleged that “old BJP workers” were being sidelined in favour of leaders joining from the Indian National Congress. Questioning the party’s decision-making, Das claimed that the leadership had earlier assured ticket allocation based on survey results. Launching a direct attack on Himanta Biswa Sarma, he challenged the Chief Minister to step down, alleging the existence of a “political syndicate” within the party aimed at consolidating power rather than serving the people. Das announced that he would contest the elections and file his nomination on March 23. He also revealed plans to form a new political party with “deprived candidates” from across Assam, from Sadiya to Dhubri. Those who live in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones. Pradyut Bordoloi, one of the most corrupt, manipulative power-brokers Assam has ever seen, plundered the state mercilessly during his tenure. No wonder he now lives in his own Sheesh Mahal in Guwahati, built on the ruins of public trust and taxpayers’ money. And let’s be clear - he’s not the only one.
