if you're fortunate enough to have a bit of money to give, please consider helping: gofundme.com/f/2nhn9q-suppo… a family member passed away recently and on monday we left the cats home alone and left the dog with a boarder everything was very chaotic and stressful, so when husband brought home a mourning bouquet of white flowers sent by his work, i just noticed them and then basically immediately forgot, and we left around 1pm at dinner around 8pm, he mentioned the flowers to his dad and it was that point where my brain turned on and started to worry that there might have been lilies or other toxic plants in the bouquet i couldn't really sleep that night because i was so worried, but we went to the funeral services at 11am, briefly ate lunch with the whole family, and then headed home we got home right around 7pm, there was some vomit on the floor but the cats came to us and we checked the flowers and there were lilies so we called the vet, called poison control, were told to bring the cats in for monitoring just in case chloe had a cardiac event at 3am wednesday and passed. heart attack, blood clot, something like that. there was a scare with lena later in the day where she had a fever and was acting erratic and jerky, jumping in her cage they said. we rushed over and got to sit in a room with her for a while, the vet said that they felt a lot more hopeful seeing lena be more relaxed and starting to eat with us there, but they wanted to finish out the 48 hours of treatment just in case. lena has finished her 48 hours of treatment and is home now, thankfully, but we are still left with a multiple thousand dollar emergency vet bill.
