Today we remembered the heroes of San Bernardino County whose sacrifice will never be forgotten.

During National Police Week the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department stood beside the families of our two fallen deputies, Andrew Nunez and Hector Cuevas Jr., at the Annual Candlelight Vigil honoring their sacrifice, service, and legacy

Congratulations to Lt. Klaus, SEBA President A. Rosa, and retired SBPD Officer M. Flint for completing the 300 mile Police Unity Tour from New Jersey to Washington, D.C., in honor and remembrance of Deputy Cuevas and Deputy Nunez.

During the conclusion of the Police Unity Tour, the families of Deputy Hector Cuevas Jr. and Deputy Andrew Nunez visited the memorial to honor their loved ones and their ultimate sacrifice.

Last week Community Deputy Jimenez was invited to the Mexican Consulate and provided a presentation on Situational Awareness #Community

We had the honor of attending the California Peace Officer’s Memorial, standing alongside agencies from across the state to remember the 13 fallen officers who gave their lives in the line of duty. We carry with us the memory of our own, Deputy Cuevas and Deputy Nunez.

Our Honor Guard team has arrived in Sacramento in preparation for the California Peace Officers’ Memorial.

We were lucky enough to run into K9 Millie today! K9 Millie is our electronic dog assigned to a specialized division, working alongside some outstanding detectives. Of course she agreed to pose for a picture! 🐶

This past weekend SBCSD celebrated a 5K walk with rock and our disabilities foundation. The movement brought out multiple people from the high desert to show support for our community with special needs.

Thank you to all the teams, players, and supporters who made the Hector Cuevas Jr. Memorial Basketball Tournament a success. Your effort, sportsmanship, and energy truly reflected the strength of this community and the purpose behind the event. We appreciate everyone who showed up and contributed to honoring Hector Cuevas Jr. Congratulations to Rialto PD on earning the championship.

Proud moment over the weekend as Honor Guard had the privilege to present colors at the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department volunteer picnic. What an amazing opportunity to give back to the volunteers who serve behind the scenes and strengthen our community every day.

Today, we had the honor of joining multiple SBCSD stations and local law enforcement agencies in a basketball tournament held in memory of Deputy Cuevas Jr.

San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department hosted a media day with our Volunteer Forces Division. Rescued hikers shared their stories while Search and Rescue volunteers explained life-saving hiking tips for inclement weather. An inspiring reminder of how preparedness saves lives!

A memorial unveiled, a hero remembered. On February 12, 2013 Detective Jeremiah MacKay gave his life in service to others, and his legacy will live on in the City of Yucaipa forever.
