I know of a case where a Muslim woman was drugged and abused by her own husband after refusing a haram act. A medical examination later confirmed both the assault and the drugs in her system. Marital rape does exist, whether people want to admit it or not.

I hate people who have never set foot in India who talk about how scared they are of it, you think you're scared? How about Indian women who live there? Where martial rape is legal and trans rights are taken away as we speak. If you are so scared why don't you speak up for them

The video of the woman from Nalanda, Bihar being publicly groped, molested, and assaulted is extremely disturbing. These men not only committed this act in public but also dared to post the video online to force her into silence by shaming her. This speaks volumes about the fearlessness that lawlessness has given them. The news report also mentions that the woman being married yet living with her parents was given as a reason for the assault. This is no reason at all. NOTHING GIVES A MAN THE RIGHT TO ASSAULT ANY WOMAN. IT IS MEN FINDING WAYS TO SHIFT BLAME FOR THEIR ACT FROM THEMSELVES TO THE VICTIMS. The culture of victim blaming and the failure to hold men accountable is deeply ingrained in our society, and it only emboldens such men to openly assault women, record it, and post it without fear. @NitishKumar @yadavtejashwi please make sure that the woman gets justice. These men must receive the harshest punishment for this act. Please do not let them get released as they are from the same village as her and it can put her life at risk. Along with this, we also need to fix the mindset that teaches and enables men to commit such heinous crimes without any fear.

They're calling Chiraiya forced propaganda against Hinduism while a Bollywood movie 7 Khoon Maaf showed similar forced physical relationship by Wasiullah. Why don't these guys understand this isn't about religion but consent

For anyone still wondering why shows like #Chiraiya are needed and made. ALL the replies to my tweet posted below, are full of men claiming that once a woman marries she has no right on her body, and consent does not apply. And why? Because a man is taking care of the house finances and taking her responsibility. So she owes it to him. Because marriage is apparently a trade and not about companionship anymore. We live in a scary world.

Only a man who knows but doesn’t accept his privilege can talk like this. The way arranged marriages happen in our country. The girl is the one leaving her house she was born in, having to start a new life, in a strange place, with a man she barely knows, having to build relations all over again. Men gain most out of it. They get a spouse. They live in the family where they will be sided with and pampered. And the society norms in itself makes the wife (who hasn’t known the husband for long) responsible for the husband’s care, as if he isn’t a partner but her charge. How do you expect her to cope with all those changes, and be ready to be intimate with her husband (who is as good as a stranger) without being given time to get to know him. Sex is or should be out of love and not a robotic physical act because it ‘has’ to be done. Marriage ≠ Consent. And this goes both ways. What if a woman forces the husband disregarding his personal space. She will be called a whore, and disrespectful towards her husband’s wishes. But when a woman is not prepared she will be forced because the husband has authority on her? Which law gives the husband power over his spouse. So let me make this clear. Any physical act done forcefully is assault, violence and rape. Marriage is not a license to disregard consent.

The government can now get your posts removed in 3 hours flat without going through a court, and if whatever you posted gets classified as "news content" you're suddenly held to the same standard as a registered media house. The internet was the one place where you didn't need anyone's permission to say what you think, and these new rules exist to fix that because the government clearly sees free expression as a "problem".
