Autotrader.ca put the average cost of a new car at $63,264 in the third quarter of 2025, with a used at $36,911 - plus financing costs, insurance, gas and maintenance. In 2026, we will keep advocating for viable alternatives to driving to make life more affordable.

2025 was a tragic year on Edmonton's roads with 32 fatalities, including 11 pedestrians and micromobility users. We can – we MUST – do better to continue building a safe and vibrant Edmonton.

“The city has done a great job maximizing the space by building the bike lanes. In Westmount where I live, we also have numerous bike lanes and once they were built, most of the residents got used to them and the bike traffic increased considerably.” 👏👏

We recently hosted disability and mobility rights advocate Anna Zivarts for our City for Life session When Driving is Not an Option. She initiated the Week Without Driving Challenge happening now and we ask all candidates to take it on using transit, bike, walking or rolling.
