When questioned about his state, Valtz admitted to drinking and rated his intoxication level as a "3 out of 10." ​After being brought onto the patrol boat, Valtz underwent field sobriety exercises. Officers determined he was impaired and placed him under arrest for Boating Under the Influence (BUI).
