Dear @elerianm, invoking Popper's Falsification Principle, what would the outcome that you'd need to see to falsify your position? If Argentina wins, you'll claim it was rigged. If Argentina loses, will it prove that it wasn't rigged or that it wasn't sufficiently rigged? In other words, there is no "fair" way by which Argentina might rightfully win. With all due respect, I've spent my entire career writing about people's lack of critical thinking. You might be a perfect exemplar of a highly educated person that is otherwise fully lobotomized. Why not simply enjoy the astounding players on both teams? Why not celebrate the artistry of Messi and his qualities as an individual?

Argentina have repeatedly shown us everything football shouldn’t be. Today France and England showed us what it should be. No hate between players, no filthy fouls and trying to actually harm each other, no political statements, no favouritism, no disgusting behaviour from fans just the beautiful game.

Los españoles deberíamos ser más comprensivos con los argentinos. El exceso con el que viven el fútbol y que les lleva a rozar la enajenación mental es su válvula de escape para sobrellevar el desastre económico y social que viven en su país. Es su forma de desahogarse.

Beautiful game last night, the final we all deserved. No dirty tactics, nasty fouls or divisive political stunts, just two teams who love the game. As the saying goes, you can’t buy class.
