Thank you all so much for the warm reception to my first Scenes post a couple weeks ago. Admittedly, my intent was to jump across many different series and experiment with them, but I just... really like how Hey Arnold! makes me feel in general, so I think we'll be hanging around here for a while when it comes to this type of post.😌

Admittedly, Arnold never actually listened to that Yellowcard CD until Olga disrupted his life, sat him down, and made him listen to it. Lila let him borrow it a couple years back, but he never got around to it - and never returned it. He can't bring himself to see her. Old feelings have crept up on him recently and they've been lingering a little more than he'd like. But during this moment, those bittersweet feelings subsided.
Every song and lyric ebbed and flowed through Arnold's 20-years young spirit, strangely enhanced by Olga's mere presence. Perhaps because he hadn't had anyone in his room like this since... Hmm. He can't remember. So much has happened over the last couple years that there was little time left in the day to live.
The listening sesh led to a few hours of conversation about life, love, memories, mutuals, and the pains of growing up. Arnold felt warmer still. Why is he connecting so well with someone who has been one step removed from being a stranger for most of his life? Has he been that starved for a genuine connection?
Olga noticed the sun was starting to set and she wasn't content with watching it through a skylight. She spotted the ladder built into his wall and quicky climbed outside. Arnold dragged himself along behind her.
He closed the window behind him and turned. There she was, taking in the sky's gorgeous color palette as the light slowly faded away from Hillwood. And there he was taking in the sight of her. The usual disruptive sounds of the city started to fade away. Just the light wind wisping away. He approached her.
